missing obd1 connector

hello, I am quite sure that no one will have a clue what I am talking about, but here goes. I have a 94 cutlass with a 3.1. I have experienced intermittent check engine lights coming on. Went to the connector under the steering column and went to jump the terminals and guess what? There are no terminals. THey are missing (the two I need to jump). I checked for pulled out wires behind the connector with no luck. THe wiring bundle is wrapped tight with tape so the wires could not have gone far. Anyone have a clue. Could they have just forgoten to run them? Is there anywhere else I might jump those terminals, say at the computer itself? Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm glad I'm not the only one at a loss. From what I've gathered, in 94 olds used a hybred ECM that doesn't have the ability to store and recall trouble codes, and doesn't have the diagnostic lead in the aldl connector. I'm not sure about the not storing codes part, but that's what I was told. Unfortunatly, your car isn't missing a wire that's supposed to be there. It really sucks that olds did this and it means either diagnosing problems the hard way, or draining your wallet at the dealership. It probably won't help much, but, yes, it is obd1, somehow.

Um...do you have a 3.1.....or a 3100? Because I'm pretty sure GM switched to the 3100 in 94. Those years were also the first years they introduced the hybrid ODB1.5 system. Not ODB, but not yet ODBII. With the years 94-96, you almost need to go to a dealership or a place like Autozone to get the codes out.
