headlights

my headlight cracked and water leaked. It blew up the bulb inside, now i tape the cracked area. Is there away to open the headlight to wipe out all the crap and water? and there is a side light in the front that is dirty and cracked. can i clean them?

Completely unplug all bulbs and remove light assemblys from car...using the openings in the back for the bulb housings,,,drop in cotton balls soaked in rubbing alcohol...use and new pencil (eraser end) to get the cotton balls all the way to the edges inside...this will remove all light bulbs gas remnants and all dirt...as well as evaporate all remaining water...I suggest a small bead of super glue to temporarily fix the cracks...until you replace them.

WizzaMax is correct but the best corrective measure would be to replace the housing. It is expensive though.
