96 leaks

I have a 96 corsica and the front floor and back floor are soaked. Any idea why and where it could be leaking from??

Thanks Nightride69

Could be the weather stripping/molding that wraps around the door frames. Do the doors seem lined up and do they close ok? Sometimes the stripping becomes shifted, and even though it looks ok, it may need to be adjusted. If they are still in decent shape, take them off and stick a little strip caulk on the frame, then put the weather stripping back on. This may help. (*caution* the caulk can get messy.) I had that problem w/ a beretta and it sucks! Car was flooded.

Re: 96 leaks

the seam under the rack and pinion steering on the firewall tends to rust or leak water on corsicas and berettas. You must reseal the seam or patch if it is rusted out. You may pull up the carpet on the driver's side front and look at firewall. Mine is patched with sheet metal and silicone. This stopped the leak as water was on the entire floor in front and back. hope this info helps you.
