Starting engine for first time after parked 2 years
I just purchased a wrecked '93 Grand Prix with a 3.1 V6. 4000 miles after it had a remanufactured engine installed it was wrecked and has been parked for nearly 2 years. Any tips on what to do before attempting to start it for the first time?

Just check to make sure everything is fine.

It will almost definetly run very bad at first. Let it idle for a while, until it runs better, and dont push the engine for about 50 miles.
Also the gas should be replaced, and it couldn't hurt to change the oil. |

I would change the oil and coolant. Remove the plugs and squirt a few drops of oil in each cylinder then spin the engine in short bursts to build up the oil pressure to get the oil flowing before you put the plugs in and actually start it.
