Lightbulb RE: My Nissan Skyline R34 GTR Vspec II

Just got this today, although I wanted to get the SAS body kit and turbo-vented hood I didn't. The car alone was $22 and my hobby shop carries everything the hod, kit, mufflers, wheels. But the kit is like $14 and the hood $8. So I just got the car, maybe my next one will have the kit, and hood. Here are a few pics everything out the box. I made a 8pt roll cage for it and painted it silver, it will be installed at a later date.

Letting it all hang out.

Half the wing will be painted body color with the struts. The other half, aluminum, so it'll stand out.

Wing being test fitted and will be prepped for paint. I want my seats to stand out. Any color suggestions will be appreciated, also check out the poll.

Comin to life with the front and rear clip, and side skirts.

Which wheels the stock ones have a polished finish, and the nismo ones are just grey.

Which grit to use to fix this uneven plastic?

Wheel Choice those ^ or the those on the bottom?

Few brushed aluminum parts.

WHOA STOP! the stock brakes call for the 4piston up front and the 2piston out back, or use the custom cross drilled 4piston in front and 2 in back, but I'm using the cross drilled 4piston up front and the regular 4piston out back.

Under carriage so far brushed aluminum transmission and transfer case, brushed aluminum power sterring pump, and air condition compressor, brushed aluminum intake.

This is the cage to-be. The silver is all what came from a kit, the white is whats being added, I've put a T brace on the back support bars debating whether to make it an X or not. And I put a horizontal support bar in the middle.
MY TO DO LIST: brush driveshafts gold, brush cv shafts black with red boots, add the horizontal Top Left to Bottom Right support brace in cage, add forward diagonal bars, bebating whether or not to make a 10pt instead of the 8 I'm going for. The paint the interior and seats, paint the body my secret color and then, uhhh select the grey nismo wheels or the polished stock 6 spokes.

Thumbs up RE: Hood

Yeah, but the only he carries is the one that you put on your HKS black skyline with the R32 motor. Its expensive as hell and usually has 1 or 2 since he claims they are hard to get ahold of. He's pretty cool tho, he'll take like 10$ off a 30 dollar car if you know him and he gives away a tube of glue and a tube of testors putty with every kit purchase. But like i said you gotta know him. Oh ya, hiroboy i think ive seen your built intercoolers, where do you buy the materials for them i want to build one for my R34. thanx

Lightbulb RE: Sanding

Hey I found some nice real fine grit paper, doesnt have the grit on it but I've sanded it down and its pretty smooth. All it needs is to finish with some 1100, and then be cleaned for prime and paint. Hiro, I'm not filling the holes because I'm using the aftermarket wing struts and need the holes to place the struts correctly.

Thumbs up

Well I'd like to do a white skyline, but I don't like white. I already have the color picked out. It came to a freind of mine in his dream, he's still in school he said he drempt that one day he couldn't get home and i was there in my Vspec II Nur skyline TT R34 with a cage in it, body kit, and had like a computer in it with all kinds of gauges. Color wont be revealed until it's done. However heres a hint: a lite silver with a black clearcoat is a good possibility. Thanx for the suggestion though, appreciated.

do you mean silver with a smoke tint over the top, black tends so be very opaque and will just be, well erm black.

probably better sticking with a darke metalic that way you will use less paint and less chance of messing it up
