Unhappy It's really smokin...Help please?

I have '77ACCORD,RAN FINE WITH SMALL AMOUNT OF BLUE SMOKE ON COLD START.THREE DAYS AGO IT SUDDENLY WAS SMOKIN LIKE A BOMB.fOUND GUNK IN ERG,CLEANED IT OUT AND IT WAS FINE.AFTER DRIVING FOR AN HOUR,I STOPPED FOR TEN MINUTES AND WHEN.I STARTED IT BACK UPIi FILLED THE PARKING LOT WITH SMOKE.THERE SEEMS TO BE A LEAK IN THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD,WOULD THAT CAUSE THE SMOKE?ANY ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.THANK YOU.

Sorry this was not responded to sooner. Yeah, sounds like you have a leak in your exhaust manifold, maybe a spent catalytic converter. Also, the blue smoke is usually indicative of burning oil. I'd make sure your oil level is not dropping, maybe remove your catalytic converter to see if it has been compromised by its long tour of duty. If your exhaust is the original unit, and therefore 25 years old, I'd say you have definitely gotten your money's worth.

Sounds to me like valve stem seals.Ageing OHC engines suck oil right though old dryed out valve stem seals.They can be changed and engine returned back to near normal,with some effort.
