Where the hell can I ROAD RACE???
I was wondering if there is a huge internet- based or even print directory of registered road tracks in the US? AutoX is great(not for me, but I love to watch the events
) but I'd REALLY like to get involved in road racing, like on a real track dedicated solely to the sport. I know of one track in West VA, that some buddies have taken me too, but other than that I'm at a loss as to where to find a road course at. Anyone know of any around the DC, VA, MD, PA area or know where I can find out more info about it? Thanks in advance

How far are you from VIR (Virginia International Raceway)? That is a very nice track with excellent facilities, although I don't know how many trackdays they have.

ok if you are that close to DC here is the local SCCA club....
http://www.wdcr-scca.org/ looks like they have quite a few races at sumit poin race way here is a map of the raceway http://www.wdcr-scca.org/club_office/map.pdf [ Up ] [ Directions ] [ Restaurants ] [ Accomodations ] [ Visitors Guide ] Directions to Summit Point Raceway, West Virginia Summit Point Raceway, a 2-mile road racing facility, is located in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley. The track is just west of Summit Point, West Virginia and a scenic 70 mile drive from the Baltimore-Washington area, through areas of rustic beauty and historic note. If you are traveling from the Baltimore or Frederick areas, you will drive through historic Harper's Ferry, WV and the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. Traveling west from the Washington, DC area, you will pass through the rolling hills of the Virginia hunt country and cross the Blue Ridge Mountains. Summit Point Raceway is located between Winchester, VA and Charles Town, WV. and is easily accessible from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. From Northern Virginia (I-495 Capital Beltway): Take Rt. 7 west past Leesburg toward Winchester. About 2 miles beyond the Rt 340 exit , at the 2nd stoplight, turn right on Rt. 632 and turn right at the next two 'T' intersections (VA Rt 751 and WV Rt 13). The track is on the right. From Frederick, MD (I-70, I-270): Take US 340 west through Charles Town, then go straight on WV Rt. 51 for one block. Bear left onto Summit Point Road (Rt. 13). The track is on the left eight miles from Charles Town and one half mile past the town of Summit Point. From Winchester, VA (I-81): From US 81 take Rt. 7 east for about 7 miles, then turn left at the stoplight onto Rt. 632. Turn right at the next two 'T' intersections (VA Rt 751 and WV Rt 13). The track is on the right. looks like they have a bunch of stuff going on at that raceway.....is that close enogh.....if not i'll try to find something else... try brosing that first website for more info

Here's a database of both historical and currently active tracks throughout the world (Including the US by state), as well as the large ovals:
http://www.racingcircuits.net Most of the active tracks have directions or links to the track website.
