People who pay a grip for an alarm are fools. I believe in you get what you pay for but not in this case. I've seen guys I know buy 1k alarms and still get their car jacked. I suggest getting any cheap alarm with a kill start, back up power source, and proximity sesnor. Then get an Autolock and Club. My girl and I have all that shit and there's still a good chance that some F*ckin thief will jack it.

the people who break into cars most likely know how to get around alarms. i agree with the above requirements in an alarm. don't make it obvious you have expensive taste (ie viewable stereos, speakers, electronics, etc.). criminals also like cars with dark window tint because they know that costs money and that you may be trying to hide something. the alarm on my car has a shock sensor, a blinking red light, and a loud-ass speaker. that's all you really need IMO.

I got it installed from my friend who is an authorized installer.. Charged me only 185 for the whole system. Includes mic's on the windows and remote start. They wanted 499 at a local shop. Its a viper with its full waranty. My sony xplod's can be easally seen throug my dark tint in the back window at certain angles. All my speakers are sony xplods. They were ready to take them but they had to accidentaly hit the horn which made them run away. Im not mad about my cd player getting stolen though... it was some silver aiwa... now im getting my friends near new sony xplod cd player with xm radio for 75 bucks :-)

Also, You live in NYC, correct? I beilvie that the Lojack system is available there. Get the Early warning system, and run it in conjunction with your viper. Lojack is not an Alarm, per say. It will not "sound" and warn thieves. Thats way I say run it with your existing system, something they reccomned. Lockjack detects unauthroized usage of your car. When it is moved without authroization, the car tells lockjack, you get a call on your phone, cell, etc (you choose how they contact u). The theif has discontected the alarm, but doesnt know you have a lojack, nor is it disconntect. It's very hard to find where they are hidden, there are 25-30 places, look att he site for more info. Anyways, your car basically car be tracked then through Lojack's GPS. So when you call the cops and give them your lojack number, they can see the cars exact loction on the lojack gps and track it down. Check it out, I knew of someone in LA who had it, it was dope. Worked well. The downside? Lojack is connected to your vechiles VIN, so when you sell it, it stays with the car.

I USED to live in NYC 2 years ago. Im in tampa bay florida right now. I live in a nice quiet neigborhood but there are several people whole live in it who are fucking druggies. One lives about 3 houses away from me and im 99.9% sure he was the one. Hes ALWAYS walking up and down the street scanning houses and looking at whats in peoples garages. Yesterday I was with my GF driving by my house and I saw him walking... I slowed down next to him and he didnt even turn his head to look at me.. I revved, nothing... then I took off. 15 min later I went driving around and I saw him again about 20 houses down walking... I was flooring it when I all of the sudden made it look like I was about to run into the sidewalk where he was walking.. he looked at me with a scared look then kept walking.

Weirdly the first time he tried breaking in my car, he heard me come out and he ran to the right... 1 min later I zoomed into my car and drove around pissed off looking for him.. no luck... hmm thats kinda odd... he ran to the right... dissapeard very quick... wait.... the guy I suspect lives to the right! he could just gone into his house! I honestly dont care about the cd player itself but I hate the fact that he has it and probably sells it for about 20 bucks.

I have a short and horrible temper so... whenever I think about it I go nuts.. Im thinking of either throwing a brick in his house or have a bunch of my friends beat the living shit outa him and scar him for life..MESS HIM UP I MEAN... LITTERALY... Hes been doing this for years and EVERYONE knows hes known for breaking into cars and stealing shit. iN MY NEIGHBORHOOd, if an alarm goes off... everyone comes out and sees why it went off.. its quiet here so all the extra features my car alarm has is useless... just the siren is good enough.. I mean its in my driveway. but for the price I paid I dont mind. Should I just let it go or do something about it? This FUCKING SHIT GETS ME MAD EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT IT!

If everyone knows he jacks shit then fuck him up, screw the brick thing. Especially if you caught him in the act of peeping your shit out. I suggest the camera thing too. My friend got one off the net. It has two little cameras with motion detection so it records only it if senses movement. it also comes with a small split screen tv so you can peep out at all times. i don't know where he got it online but you can look out for it. I'm sorry to hear about that man. I know how you feel. I've had 3 break ins and an additional 3 car thefts.... just don't have good luck with cars I guess.

Hey, sorry it took awhile for me to reaspond. I haven't been on for awhile. My opinion? I am the same way as you are. Can have a temper if I choose, and when it comes to my car, I choose. I say fuck him up. I hate car thevies and car boosts. I mean, I put my f*ing time and money into this shit,a nd you jack it and sell it? It's like, f* you man. You know? Here in PDX, cuz of budget cuts, you could catch the clown and he might not be thrown away long. Earlier this year, some chick in a theft ring was CAUGHT 3 times in a month, and was still out walking the street. I say teach him a lesson, teach him if he's gonna fuck with cars, he best not fuck with yours. If there's one thing I hate, it's thevies and cheats. I recently found out where a local boost dumps cars before choppin em. Boy, he doesn't know me, but I know of him. That fucker better stay away from anyone's car I know (me included of course). So I say go for it, the camrea Idea is good too, but even if you caught him, I still say go for it. Beat into his head to say away from your car. Just don't get caught beatin his ass

If I was to get an alarm, I would go with the Compustar rather than the Viper or Autopage. Not like I need an alarm yet but when I do, I think ima go with the Alarm/Starter Combo that Compustar offers.

I know how you feel. I got my 2 of my SI rims stolen as well as my cf altezzas at 2am in the mornin. I was asleep and my idiotic aunt was awake listening to my alarm go off and did nothing about it. I keep my car in a garage now and nothing has happened since. I would recommend garaging your car with household security.

I got the old 'screw driver pry away the door' routine on my civic.

They cracked my dash yanking the cd player out. (it honestly wasn't even a really nice cd player) then I think they slammed the door shut and since it was all bent the hell outta shape the glass broke.

I wouldn't have been upset if they just stole the cd player but they broke everything to hell getting the damn thing and it wasnt even worth much. blagh!

oh who else said they lived in tampa, fl?! same here. Tampa's got a good amount of car break-ins.
