Keyless remote programing

Please offer your advise. I've programed many Nissans & Infinitis using the 'conventional' method (sit in car, close doors, pull key in and out 6x, etc) so I was surprised when my dealer told me I could no longer do that on my 2002 Infinit I35. He said that I needed to bring it in the dealer for a couple hours to program via a computer. Can anyone tell me if the other method is still applicable? Thank you.

Can someone tell me more about how to program keyless entry transmitters?
I just bought a 96 i30 and the seller gave me two transmitters that are not to the car I purchased but they are from an infinity. She said they could be reprogrammed. The dealer wants 90.00 each.
Can I program these myself?
Bill

Re: Keyless remote programing

My dealer did mine for free. Maybe you should try another dealer.
