Help on Integra

Hey guys.
I just wanted to get some advice from you experts on cars.
I have a 2001 Acura Integra GS-R and I want to push the HP over 200.
What are your suggestions?

You can do that easily a number of ways with 3 grand. Which direction do you want to take the motor, NA, SC, TC, N2O?

but actually you'll be pushing it with turbo money wise. If i had a 01 gsr id start with
cai intake
headers
catback exhaust
ecu
cam gears
pulleys
then add a healthy shot of N2O via nitrous express kit (best kit)

then if you have any left lower it and put some nice wheels on it. if you're more into performance than looks rota's are good wheels.

if your're gonna go NA with ~2000$ i would get a completelly prepared head and the rest 1000 for I/H/E and a custom burned chip to take advatage of the mods.....

How much could he gain by going NA and upgrading all the internals, doing a port and polish job, etc???

I dont' want to sound like an ass, but since i have no idea wut these are could you be specific and suggest the exact types for me? (name of brand and stuff like that)

NA = All motor
SC= Supercharged
TC= Turbocharged
N2O= Nitrous

i would say go with the TC ... it should be more than over 200 if you run it at7 - 8psi of boost with stock gsr engine...someone correct me if i am wrong...then when you get some more $$...upgrade the engine internals and fuel systems and such...

So you are saying that i should get a GSR engine. And that should be able to put me up over 200hp? Sweet

What about this Turbo kit thing that i'm hearing about?

A B18C1 with 8 PSI should produce roughly 260 crank HP. 225 WHP (wheel horsepower) easily.
A turbo kit is exactly what it says, a kit that gives you most or all components you need to put a turbocharger on your car.

r u gunna be installing this all urself, cuz if ur not familiar with everything under ur hood. S/C r easier to install, self contained, 50 state legal and will still put u over 200HP. The only problem is that they r usually more expensive than a T/C. Take a look at Jackson Racing or Vortech. But if u feel comfortable enough stick with a turbo cuz u can get more out of them.

just my opionion but everyone that I know that has a JRSC hates them, I have heard much better things about vortech.

you an always do a custom turbo kit. but you don't sound like the most mechanically inclined person (no offense). I agree that turbo is the best way to go. you should be able to find a nice kit for $3000. but then you'll have to have someone put it in thats labor cost there. And then theres gauges you should get. a turbo timer would be nice so you don't have to sit in your car for a few minutes after you get done driving. you should go talk to someone at a local shop in your area that would be your best bet. just tell them you wanna go with a turbo and how much you got and they can go from there probally good luck.
