Civic Got Towed

Here goes. I have an 02' civic ex. Today I was on my way back up to the Dentist to pick up my sister. When I turned on the road leading up to the building, i hit my accel, and my engine just reved but my i didn't gain speed. I thought I accidentally popped my car into neutral, but when I looked down I was still in drive. For some reason my car was still giving a little gas, just enough to maintain a speed of about 20 mph to get me safely into a neighborhood. Here i stopped, and noticed a light was on in my dash. I couldn't recognize it, so i checked my manaul and it's called the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp". The book says this light pops on when u start your car, then goes off. It stayed on the entire time I was driving. Then I read further and it said that I shouldn't drive the vehicle if it remains on, because further damages can be inflicted to my vehicle and they won't be covered in the warrenty. Someone said I could of put in diesal, but the only gas station I visit, doesn't sell it.
So here's a simple break down of my problem:
1. My car drives like im in neutral
2. It gives a little gas, but not much
3. Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on, but it's a very vague warning to what problems are occuring

My civic is brand new, got it in september, has bout 5200 miles on it. I'm not due for an oil change any time soon, and I have plenty of Transmition fluid.
My dad recalled a time that my mom got a brand new 86 Prelude, and it broke down because the Mobile had bad gas.
Can someone tell me what could be wrong with my car?

If you have under 36,000 miles your car is still under factory warranty. Take it to Honda @ let them worry about it & pay for the tow & a rental/loaner while yours is being repaired.

Diesel pump handle tubes are of larger diameter than unleaded so they don't fit in your gas tank door. My dumbass found that out when I accidentally almost pumped my car full of it. By a "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" are you talking about the cel? As stated above give it to your dealership to fuck around with.

They also told me to click my gas cap 3 times or a cel would pop up. I didn't think it would make a car go 20mph tops though... Try resetting your ecu. Take the negative terminal off battery for about 5-10 minutes, put it back on, start the car and let it idle for 2 minutes so it can "relearn" everything, then turn the car off. After that, start the car and try driving it around your neighborhood to see if it fixed the problem.

this seems like a good method to try, anyway. try it and see if it works.

my accord also says to turn atleast 3 clicks, only if u go under that should the CEL come on.

Two friends of mine just got the same thing done. Hail sucks. Did they say what was wrong with your tranny? How much is that going to cost you? I know it's under warranty but I think you may have to pay labor...

Good news though. My friend just got a 98' Camaro Z28, that we thought was stock with just flows added on. Turns out, the previous owner, put about 4-6 grand worth of upgrades on it, and it's hauling well above 420hp, and pulled a 10.6, and a 10.3 on the 1/4. That's awesome considering we thought it was at about 320hp when we first got it. He's also saved up for an SS hood.

I have no idea what went wrong with my transmition. And those bastards aren't charging me shit.
I just decided not to get my hood replaced when i get my hail damage fixed though. It got the worst damage, and id rather just go carbon fiber. I hate that its gonna make me look "rice-ish" before i do any engine mods. I wont have my turbo kit for several months, and im not gonna have my exhuast, or Cold air, put on, untill then. Does anyone know if by me getting a kit, ill stay under warrenty?(im not engine swapping)

Um, not to completely turn this post around but a 10.3 is VERY low for a 420hp camaro. I think you meant to say 13.3 maybe. My friend has a 475hp stang with a 150 shot of nos (625hp) and runs high 11's/low 12's.
