Trying to locate transmission controle module on '08

I'm working on my grandkids '08 GP and it's not shifting out of park. Before I go the tranny rebuild route, I was told by a friend that it may be the TCM, and a possible fix is unplugging it and then after a minute or so, plug it back in. I'm going to try it and if that doesn't work, I'll buy another TCM before taking it to the transmission shop and paying $1900 to rebuild it. Can anyone tell me where the TCM is located on this car? I've done multiple searches and most of them say it's in the bottom of the air intake box, but the only thing in there is the ECM/ECU module. I can't find the TCM anywhere. I've been looking for a blue plug like my buddy told me it would have, but I'm having zero luck. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lee.

Re: Trying to locate transmission controle module on '08

Yep, that's it. I ended up calling the local Chevy/GM dealer's parts dept this afternoon and they couldn't find it. I found a site called Hwy 71 auto parts that sell pre-programmed modules and told the girl what i was looking for and that I had spent the whole day under the hood looking for it, but all I found was the 3 plug module. She looked it up through my VIN and said there are 3 different ones for the last 8 numbers she asked me for on mine.
She took the full VIN and said that is doesn't have a stand-alone TCM, but the module is listed under PCM, and apparently is has the power control, ECU and TCM all in one module. I told her I wondered if that was it when i saw the blue receptacle under the right hand connector, and she said that was it. Unfortunately, even after disconnecting it for a few minutes then reconnecting it, the car is still not moving. She sent me the information on what mine would take, which is $115 and pre-programmed by the VIN number you supply, if I decide I want to get one. So now it's a question of do I spend another $115 on a module that may or may not work or take it to the transmission shop and spend $1900. The grandkids are itching to have it back, and they want me to just take it to the shop, but the shop owner told me he's pretty busy and it could be a month or more before he gets it done. (He's very good, so he's very busy) I think I may go ahead and get it just to see if it works. Or figure out a way to buy them another car. Thanks alot for taking the time to find those pics though, Stealthee. You're the first person who even replied on 3 different forums. All I can say is, how do all those places showing the TCM for this car not have what is actually in it. I was ready to get underneath and pull the rock guards and start hunting down there. Thanks again!

Re: Trying to locate transmission controle module on '08

I thought that could be the case. I even had posted that I didn't think the 08s had a separate TCM, but did the search and found what I showed you.

You say it's not shifting out of park. Have you tried putting it in 1st and attempting to move? Those transmissions are notorious for the forward band breaking. If it does you can put it in 1 and the car will drive. You can manually shift it to get around but it won't last long.

In order the replace the forward band requires a full tear down though. It's failure is why I dumped my supercharged 07 back in 16.
