We have a 98 Civic LX. Last weekend our daughter was sitting in the car listening to the radio for about 10 minutes and when I got there the car wouldn't turn over. We got a jump but the car continued to idle just a notch or two above zero. We checked the battery and didn't see the green light in the eye so replaced the battery. The idle continued low. I adjusted the throttle. But the question is, is what rpms is the car suppose to idle at? Below 1 above 1??????? Right now, the idle sits at 1 or just above, is this too high?

The idle should be about 750rpm with no load.(everything turned off)
the idle should be 1,000-1,500rpm when cold(fast idle) adjust the idle by turning the idle adjustment screw, not by tightening the throttle cable |

The eye only shows the condition of one cell, not the entire battery. So yea that eye is pretty much useless. Battery testers are a good thing
