Disabled Vehicle

Hello, I hope I can get some help here. My ex did something to my vehicle to disable it. Now I can't start it. It just cranks and cranks but doesn't catch. I checked the main fuse box but didn't see anything missing. 2016 Chrysler Town & Country. I know it's something under the hood but I don't know. What are some things I can check?

Re: Disabled Vehicle

The problem is we really don't have enough information without you being able to do any diagnostics.

You need 4 things to start an internal combustion engine

Air
Fuel
Spark
Compression

You also need proper timing (both ignition and cam timing)

If any of those are out of sorts or missing the engine won't run. If you figure an ex messed with it it could be something like sugar (or another substance) in the gas tank to messing with built in anti theft making it not start.

Re: Disabled Vehicle

As Stealthee mentions, you'll need to determine what you do and do not have present to properly determine where to focus your search.

Since it's a Chrysler product, one easy way to disable the vehicle would be to pull the Auto Shut Down (ASD) relay though, so you might want to first confirm that relay is present.

Was your ex knowledgeable with vehicles to where they would have known effective methods that would be difficult to detect? If you're planning to press charges or something against them, you may want to consider recording video of your search and what you find (assuming you do find it) as evidence, although it would be difficult to prove they, versus anyone else with access to the vehicle, did it I suppose.
