Car turns off when sensor is moved

I was driving my 09 impala 3.5 when all of a sudden car turns off. I get out and inspect sensors and connections. After making sure everything was plugged in I then started wiggling sensors around and that's when I discovered the sensor that caused the problem. Whenever the car is turned on and the sensor is moved a little the car shuts off, then when i move it aound again to get car to turn on I hear a click everytime I move the sensor. I don't know what sensor it is, but I know it connects to the crankshaft and the fuse box. I will attach an image of the sensor, if anyone knows the name of the sensor or what it is for or the solution itself please let me know.
Thanks you
The sensor is the one that has pink on it:

Re: Car turns off when sensor is moved

Sounds more likely you have a wiring/connection issue.

Re: Car turns off when sensor is moved

Most likely the crank sensor or associated wiring is the issue.
