Help. 2008 Kia Rio5 Overdrive issues
I have a 2008 Kia Rio5 and I am trying to figure out where in the transmission where the overdrive unit is. The switch in the gear selector works and so does the light on the dash, when I get into high gear, the engine revs up, like I am in neutral. If I shut the overdrive switch off, the car drives just fine in 3 gears (like a typical automatic)
I pulled the pan and valve body and tested all 6 of the solenoids. All actuated just fine, so I put it all back together with a new filter and ATF Still no workie. Is there anyone here who can give me some insight to where I can find the overdrive components in the transmission? After all the work I have been able to do on this car successfully, I am stumped on this one. ![]() Also, which plug connector on the transmission itself, is associated with the overdrive? The wire from the shifter HAS to go somewhere to the transmission, I would think. Someone who knows these transmissions should be of great help and I would greatly appreciate it. Leon |
