Time period or millage before OBD2 enviromental data returns

Does anyone know what the approximate millage and/or time period before cleared environmental data returns so a yearly inspection has the data to pass?

I had a unrelated issue,I had to disconnect the battery ground cable unfortunately it was a few days before I took the car for the inspection, I wasn't aware of this, nor I even thought about it since I didn't know that data is sent to the state before the inspection sticker is printed.

If it matters, it's 2005 Chevy Classic and it's in New York state. Mind you I think it's a great idea, I just didn't know this since I'm sure there are enough 'scammers' out there tiring to cheat the system.

Re: Time period or millage before enviromental data returns

To get the emissions monitors back online in the pcm requires a certain drive cycle, usually the last one to come back is the evap system, in N.Y. that year vehicle will pass if one is still "inc". You can Google the drive cycle procedure for your car, but I have seen this take up to 125 miles on some vehicles. Your inspection station can scan the pcm to see if the car is ready to pass, if you don't have a scanner yourself.
