Does anyone know if this is a U joint problem or a transmission/transfer case problem?
Hi everyone please help. Whenever I go into reversing and brake I keep hearing this sound. Please tell me it's a u joint problem.
2004 Ford Expedition XLT 5.4 L 251,790 miles driven I uploaded the video here. https://youtube.com/shorts/feL2ZSvTV...EbL--0GA1aB0zK |

Re: Does anyone know if this is a U joint problem or a transmission/transfer case problem?
I couldn't tell from the video. For u-joint, I would get under the vehicle with it off and in park. Then grab the driveshaft and twist it clock-wise/counter clock-wise. I would look at each end and see from the twisting if the other portion away from the joint would stay in place while the shaft moved. This would show if the joint had slop in it and needs a change.
