Lotus 91, Ebbro, 1:20

Hi,

managed to get another one finished, this time the 1982 Lotus 91 by Ebbro. With deAngelis the original achieved the last win for Lotus during Chapmans lifetime, but I built it with Nigel Mansells number.

The kit is great, super fit and detailing, one of the best I built so far. Only the instructions could be a little bit better. The surround of the cockpit opening of the monocoque should be painted black instead of CF, which is not that obvious from the manual. Once I noticed it was too late. Oh, and don't glue on part B1 if you want to put the cowling on - at least I was not able to get it to fit, and there is some japanese text next to the part, and it's also not visible on the picture on the side of the box... maybe that text is about leaving it off...

There is a small gap on the right side on the pics, you can close it with minimal pressure. There is nothing in the way, maybe I should try to clamp it down with a stripe of sheet on the inside and drill holes for some rivets...
Nevertheless, I'd suggest to shorten C11 on the chassis side for about a mm, and also the lower edge of the front cowling there, as well as thin the inside of the cowling where it goes over the front suspension to make it slip over it a bit easier.
And let the paint and clear dry thoroughly before putting everything together, as you will have to handle at least the side parts and the floor quite a bit during assembly.

I built it mostly OOB, except for the usual belts, wires and hoses. Painted with TS14, 29, 19, 30, Alclad, Aquacolor and ModelAir by brush and Mr. Super Clear on Top.
Hope you like it.

Super fantastic! Looks very clean with shining black also.
Not an easy color to polish.l for sure. You did a good job on this.

The details look great too, I will have to give this kit a try!
Thanks for sharing!
