about that mazda 1.8t engine...

it could probaly be done if you got cutsom drive axles and a different transmission for it.... you can't put a 4wd tranny unless you did some hardcore mods and cut out a tunnel for the shaft and changed the front suspension to suppor axles and power. if you got a font wheel drive mazda transmission you could probaly make custom mounts and fit it in there... cause the mr2 tranny is baisically a fwd trany connected to the rear wheels instead of the fronts.

(meant to post as reply... somehow it diddnt work)

I read about people sticking v-6's in their mr2 and I thought it might be easier putting in a smaller turbo 4. Thanks for the input.

but, you've got to think about it... the N/A MR2 uses a camry engine and trans, and higher model camrys have V6's.... so the trans is interchangable with the engine (minus an uneeded bolt), and uses the same engine mount spots in the engine bay, except for one that can supposedly custom made in a matter of minutes, even though its not really even needed (supposedly, although i wouldn't drive iwthout the torq stay) for non-harsh driving.

i think what you should do is get another (engineless) mazda and put your engine and tranny in there, but use it as a track car. I mean, strip it, cage it,and gut it... im talkin lexan windows man. If you're into that kind of thing, of course.
