I have owned a 2001 Sport Trac and now own a 2002 Sport Trac, Both cars had and now have the same problem with the left front brakes. The pads wear out in a VERY short time and the truck pulls to the left when applying the brakes. The rest of the brakes are fine. I would like to know if anybody else is experiencing the same problem.

My Sport Trak brakes lockup and pull to the right. It caused an accident (minor) and I had the vehicle repaired and brakes checked. Last nite in an heavy braking situation on the freeway it did the same thing AGAIN. It is very dangerous issue. The accident occurred under emergency braking, went sideways on the freeway and clipped the median barriar. Anyone else having this problem?

Sport Trac Front Brake Problems
I own a 2001 Sport Trac with approx. 50,000 mi. that I bought used at 19,000 mi., I've had it almost two years and the left front disc brakes seem to wear out extremely fast. I do occasionally pull a boat or utility trailer, but not on a regular basis. I've had to replace the front brake pads three times in the last 20,000 mi., each time both left and right sides were replaced as a set and the rotors were turned and bearings regreased, and from the sound and feel of it I'm about to have to do it again. I don't see anything obvious, the calipers do not appear to be leaking or binding but something must be wrong, anyone else having this problem? Could the proportional valve be adjusted wrong? Does anyone know procedure for correct adjustment? Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
