Hey Everyone, new to the group.
Just an intro, I have a 1993 GMC Sierra c1500 that I am going to repaint myself. Before that there is a lot of prep that needs to be done, the fiberglass rear fenders has a few spots that will need to be repaired plus a few other things. I will supply pictures from time to time. My first question, even though I have a while before I get to this point, how do I need to prep the Fiberglass to repaint?

Re: Hey Everyone, new to the group.
Fiberglass prep really isn't different from metal prep. Sand, prime/seal, paint, clear (if 2 stage)
My hood is fiberglass and had some damage. Below is me fixing the damage, then painting the underside. Once the repair was done and smoothed, all I did was make sure I have a good scuff ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My front fenders are fiberglass and I have fiberglass overfenders on the rear. After I molded them in ![]() ![]() primed ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not a close up, but paint and clear ![]() ![]() I changed nothing in my prep process.
