Vric too lazy to search. Its just the basic Tamyia spray-work compressor with airbrush.

flyonthewall you know how I can get a copy of this book in New Zealand? things like that are hard to find here

went out and brought some Alclad II paints.

Gloss black base and Chrome. I can see why people rave on about these paints as they ae awsome.

1 light coat of chrome and ya have shadow chrome
more coats of chrome = awesome looking chrome puts tamyias chrome to shame

tested it on a set of wheels. Trying out the Alclad paint at the same time.
must say it is soo much easier to control than a tamyia spray can, much finer and more directional spray.

well as a rough guide, the pressure of the spray and consistancy of the paint are your main factors.

paint should be able to flow freely, but not so thin that it runs straight off the model, you will know if the paint is too thick because it will "spatter and spit".

Pressure is the other factor, too much and you will make the paint run, and it will blow the paint into puddles.
too little and it wont make the paint flow fast enough and will bugger it up, lol.
you need to buy a pressure regulator, they are cheap and sit on the end of the compressor between the brush air tube.
Alclad specifies pressures on its bottles but you will and should do a test with each colour.

The best kind of air brush is a top feed gravity brush, you use a lot less paint and is a lot more controllable than a bottle feed brush, where a lot of paint is used and wasted. good luck
