West Virginia Hybrid Penalty

Talk about backward thinking, registration cost on an electrified vehicle is more than double on a hybrid and triple on an all electric vehicle. Revenue by any means necessary, common sense be damned. Wako libs are narcissus and power hungry.
I wonder how widespread this is. Our DMV are in the stone age with inefficiency. I never receive a renewal notice for my vehicles so the keystone cops can fine me for added revenue. They are also a victim of the very system they work for. So sad.

They do it because they aren't getting the gas taxes out of you. I live a few miles north of the WV border near Morgantown. I've worked in WV on a few occasions but would never live there because of the losses I would take in taxes, insurance, etc. I'd have to increase my salary by 33% to be even to what I am in PA.

reg. for an '06 GMC; up 4times the amount..
used to pay $26. a year for whatever vehicle (unless 5yrs or newer)..
then a road/'safety' surcharge (HA! i've seen better roads in iraq w/IED holes),
bridge safety; right, we're in the rocky mountains; it's pretty solid underneath,
and i've NEVER seen anyone service the bridges..
age of vehicle add-on; so for keeping and maintaining an older vehicle, instead of
buying new junk; i'm penalized!?

and most of the additional "FEES" are just that;
titled 'fee' or 'surcharge', it is NOT a tax; so not even deductible..
and you either pay the fine; i mean 'fee', or drive illegal?
just another money grab..
