CX-5 Navigation screen

2017 CX-5, at different times, when I have the navigation screen on, it will jump to different modes on it's own. Sometimes, it locks up and the only way to unlock it is to go to HOME or Music. Back to Navigation and all is OK. Might happen when hot or cold outside. Just starting or if I've been traveling for a while (over 2 hours). Bought the car used and it has what I think is the original battery. (Japanese writing on it). Could it be the battery is glitching/going out? Car starts fine (I've had it for over a year).

Re: CX-5 Navigation screen

YouTube to the rescue. This is a universal problem with the touchscreen. To "fix" the problem, disconnect the touchscreen flat cable going into the PC board in the display. This will require removal of the Infotainment module. YouTube has several posts about doing this. Use of the Commander Dial will be your only option but saves having the display replaced ($1200 I've been told). I never used the touchscreen anyway. Leaves unsightly fingerprints!
