Re: Figure Group Build: In Progress

I want to share a short WIP from a Russian guy. He stripped the figure and painted it in body art style. http://forum.autoinscale.com/viewtop...265150#p265150

He really stripped she LOL
The body art in scale idea is something awesome, strange enough I never seen one. Very inspiring.

Re: Figure Group Build: In Progress

I'm starting with the walking guy from the Campus Fiends set.

The kit is spectacularly well molded. Body parts are done as hollow shells, so there are no sink holes in awkward places. The fit is good enough that there is almost no seam work required, so these figures need little more than painting to finish.

There's a nice selection of accessories included. You can give the guy a guitar case to carry, or a smartphone, or a couple of stylish handbags. There's a paper bag also, which makes him look like he's just cleaned up after a large dog (who is unfortunately not included).

Tamiya even includes a different head option for this guy.

Unfortunately, neither option really speaks to me - so I've been looking for an alternative. Maybe something a bit- different.

I'd thought of putting a racing helmet on him, and then maybe dressing him in a silk suit like the Stig's Italian cousin. But I already have a Stig fig in my display case, and another seems redundant.

I liked the idea of doing the guys from Daft Punk-

But those helmets are actually pretty elaborate, and beyond what I feel like I'm up for in scratchbuilding. Maybe it would be a good option for 3D printing, there are probably files somewhere in the internet that can be scaled down? But not something I can easily do myself. Besides, then I'd have to figure how to light it up, and- nah, it gets to be a bit much.

How about the next best thing then- Deadmau5. He's a car guy, why not? People have been making mau5heads to wear to raves and concerts for years now- and it's not hard to find "official" dimensions.

Now that's something I can work with, even in 1/24.

So I'm making a mau5head. Will post pics when it looks like something.
