Re: starting problem

Get the fuel pressure tested, need 60-65 psi. Try spraying carb cleaner into the intake see if it fires. Btw, welcome to the forum.

Re: starting problem

Thank you for the info.. I will give it a try. I know it's something simple. While trying to start it sounds close then nothing and when i turn the key off it still sounds like it wants to start.. Confusing

Re: starting problem

yes i did.. tested what was recommended. so far everything has tested fine. my next attempt might be the oil pressure switch which is hard for me to get to.

Re: starting problem

So what happened, still no answer, did it start start spraying carb cleaner into the intake, what is the fuel pressure, key on? If the oil switch was involved, the fuel pump operation would be affected.

Re: starting problem

Fuel, air and spark- the three things you need- which one is missing?

Do as suggested first with carb cleaner---if it still doesn't fire, then electrical issue as in no spark....then .....

I,ve seen ignition switch be hot in "run" but not in "start" positions...the biggest hint was that when i left off the starter it tried to fire.....So I put a 12v indicator light on pink wire at coil-- it was hot only ion "run" went dead in "start"--Bad ignition switch....
