3M Automotive Rubbing Compound and Dupli-Color color-changing spray paint 3-pack

I picked these up at walmart tonight. I just wanted to say that the 3M stuff works wonders on my models, but its a bitch to remove (its like a wax, rub on, wait 20 minutes, then rub off), and i just wanted to see if any ever used the dupli color color changing 3 pack (base paint, color changine paint, and clear). How is it?

Hey CamaroSSBoy346 i have used all the color changers from dupli color and they work great. but you need to use the dupli color primer under the base coat since the base coat "may" craze the plastic so doing this is the safe way to go about it. another thing to remember is the more coats of the color shifter paint the better and more radical the color shift. i used 12 light coats of the green/purple on my mr-s and i just bought the new color shifter to day it's called "ICE" and it is real nice and i can't wait to try it out.

Oh i forgot next time you go to wal-mart gets some of meguiars cleaner/wax that stuff is awesome and easy to use and you get a rich deep high gloss finish. just get a cotton cloth place a blob of cleaner/wax on it and start rubbing until it dries up and then wipe it off with a clean cotton rag. you will need to do this a few times ( 4 or 5) before you start getting the deep gloss shine. but it is worth it it's like looking into a mirror.

The car im doing this on is my BMW 535i. It was already primered, and painted. It was like this for a year. Then just tonight i sanded down the paint a bit then put the base coat on that.

What type of paint? enamel or laquer? if it's laquer then you will have no problems but if it is enamel then you may run into orange peel.

You'll run into orange peel with any kind of paint.

Re: 3M Automotive Rubbing Compound and Dupli-Color color-changing spray paint 3-pack

I used the duplicolor Mirage paint. Not on model but on computer Cases.

It's nice color, but the flake might be too big for model. It's easy to work with and give a good effect
