Advance Wars 2 for the GBA is a solid game
Who would have thought the GBA could squeeze all the aspect of a good strategy game into it. Advance Wars 2 does a great job of bringing together all the aspects of a good strategy game.
Anyone who has never player strategy games before, they kind of play like a video game based on a combo of chess and Risk, but a whole lot more fun. If you have played RPG video games, think of it has an RPG without all that exploring for treasure.
If you are only into fast paced fighting games, racing games, or first person shooters, this is not the game for you. It is a turned based game, so the pace will be to slow for most people who need a fast paced game.
For the rest of you who do like these kind of games, Advance Wars 2 offers a good value for you buck. One nice feature that some game developers forget to have, is the save at anytime feature. Player will not have to worry about starting a level and then losing your progress because you had to stop playing for the moment.
This is the type of game you can pick up anytime, get right into it, and stop at anytime if needed. Players who played the first Advance Wars will find Advance Wars 2 is a step above Advance Wars.
Is it worth the $35 retail? It comes very close. I bought my copy on sale and believe it was money well spent.
