Question about CC 05 Accord

I have a 2005 Accord, and it needs a new catalytic converter.

I was told there is no aftermarket replacement and it needs a dealer only parts (was told this by an independent repair shop).

Is this common to pay $1000 for a dealer only cat?
Google shows many aftermarket replacements, but is there something I'm missing here?
