overheating issues

I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze Limted LTZ with 1.4L engine. it had a coolant leak from the water pump. I changed the water pump and now it is overheating. I blead the coolant system 3 times it will driver fine and stay cool for about 20- 25 miles then will start to overheat. it is blowing coolant back out of the coolant reservoir. it was running fine before the water pump was changed and now it seems like it has air in the coolant system. it will have bubbles in the coolant reservoir while the car is running.
Can someone help me to figure our what may be causing this issue? I would think if it was a blown head gasket it would have had the issue prior to changing the water pump and would overheat faster. the system is not leaking anywhere.

I would say it is just still air in the system. GM's are a PITA to get air out sometimes. I had an air pocket in thermostat housing on my Grand Prix one time. Even with the bleeder valve I still couldn't get the air out. I finally just took the rad cap off and left it off overnight abd the air finally worked its way out.

If you can park it uphill or on ramps. Don't forget to have your heat on full.

Here’s my worry, if this thing got really hot with the coolant leak, it could very well need a cylinder head. They are very prone to warp when overheated. I’d recommend getting a coolant exhaust gas detector. You can possibly rent one from a parts store. Basically fancy suction tool with a detecting liquid in it that changes color when exhaust gasses are present. It’s easy to use. I’ve replace several cylinder heads for warpage after overheating due to coolant leaks. I own a 2014 and check the coolant level once a month.
