1/24 CISITALIA 202SC scratch/3d

Hi there.
Let me back with a new job and tell a a story.

But, mostly, let me start spoiling the (almost) final.... the happy end... or you will guess this would be one of my never-ending WIPs

So far the first casted body shell still in primer, the second cast in resin, aside the master prototype over the mold. Its an quite happy end Despite the build starts now the "kit" it is almost ready

Now I wouldn't tell you the story of the Cisitalia 202, called also "the most beautiful worldwide car" and showed at MoMa since 1949 as a traveling sculpture... But what excited me much more are how the story of the owner , Piero Dusio, met the Porsche guys story. probably we wouldn't have any Porsche now without Dusio: I'll let you search and discover what happened

My story is focused just on how a dream become solid-real trough the design, the print and the cast of copies.

So, after years of second thoughts... taking advantage of the 2 months recovering from a injury, I finally started to 3D draw, from stylized shapes to any useful detail for a curbside kit

And eventually I started to add details and details

Presentation rendering and then let me to show how I "solidified" my dream. This is exactly my idea: two build one in racing specs and one street legal

Re: 1/24 CISITALIA 202SC scratch/3d

Time to switch to the "analog" mode

IMG_8074 by giovanni castello, su Flickr

It was printed with a cheap home 3dSLA printer, at 50 micron/layer

It is the first time I'll do all the job at home, like you will see there's something to do for a good finish, but I was surprised and happy

wow, and this is with a cheap 3d printer. Can't wait til you use an expensive one. I am always impressed with any of your builds. And the car looks tough to boot.

Looking good Gio. Panel gaps seem large?

Thanks guys!

Yes Alex a bit: it is a balance between several issue: tolerance of the 3dprinter, resin cast troubles. I'll do a little narrowed but cast would be worst and mold get junk quick....

Anyway with the color thickness I think would be nice

So, after several attempt...

I also worked on some"mask tools" to help to drill the body shell in case you want to build it with bumpers..

And as well we have some 3d printed wire spoked rims, I meant a correct latched set....
