Hi,

I have in my Buick GN ´87 MafTpro and there is some problem in the device.

It loses the settings/parameters, which I have inputted. Or better said, it changes the settings to weird and false values about once ina year. When I correct them, the car starts and run fine again.

Why the flashprom inside the device will change the settings once a year or so?

Voltage transients are a prime suspect for over-writing EEPROM and NVRAM devices. Shield the device from EMI and transients as best as you can. A filtered/regulated supply to the device may be necessary.

I am not so familiar with electonic issues, so could you please direct me in to right procedure to shield the dvice and how to filter the supply.

An RFI filter capacitor (non-polarized, about 47µF or larger) connected to the +12V power supply line and a good ground should help resolve any transients. It will also be helpful to keep it as far fron secondary ignition wiring and the coil(s) as possible.

For a regulated supply, that could get a little more involved. Start with the easy stuff.

I only located the MafTpro on the other position far away from the ECM and LC-1
wide band system.

So, no any problems wit the Pro so far.

But, I have an other question related to the alternator:

I want to put together the original cs 144 alternator, which I have in our storage without the rectifier and the two collars.

RockAuto has the rectifier, but not collars, which are supporting the front bearing on the rotor axle.

So, are you hints where to purchase these collars or have you information for the dimensions for these?
