Angry Injen Intake Question

Does this CAI system require a 3.25" hole to be cut into my bumper like the Cattman CAI? Here is a pic of it:

http://www.injen.com/webpages/intake.../rd/rd1930.jpg

The part number is RD1930. Thanks a lot guys.

Injen

So is the Injen getting cold air or not ? I agree the looks are great and the best ive seen. Im presently checking out all the intakes just to see for myself. But im not sold on Injen yet. Im wondering if Place Racing is the one to try, over injen ? any thoughts or ideas ?

The Injen pulls air from behind the radiator and around hot engine components and is not a true CAI.
But CAIs are good for low end but rob high end. Get a hybrid.

there's a thread on maxima.org bashing on the injen.. however, i beg to differ from what popular demand says.. that the injen is not a true CAI, that the filter sits right behind the lower portion of the radiator and the air going in the filter is hot radiator air, that it is over priced.
the injen may not be a true CAI like the PR, but it does get colder air than a HAI. if you're not mechanically inclined you may have a harder time or more expensive labor fees if you hire a mechanic to do the work for installing the PR. The injen installs in just a few minutes more than a regular midpipe and cone filter.
The injen IMO does not sit right behind the radiator like people say, it has plenty of clearance from the radiator section of the engine bay. also, the air going into the filter comes from behind the lower splash guard of the engine bay and from the front air dam. as far as price goes, not to bad mouth Steve from frankercar cause he is a hard worker and puts out a great product, his midpipe with a filter went for 20 dollars under for what i paid for my injen new.
as far as performance goes, my friends in my area, and people on the .orgs complain about poor performance from their HAIs in their maximas during these summer months. i do not notice low end lag or loss thoughout the whole range.
so, you go figure, and make your own conclusions.
thanks for listening.

P.S. sounds and looks of the injen are just an added plus.

the PR CAI is a bitch to install, but worth it in the end (like any other mod for the maxima). Both PR and Injen draw air from the lower part of the car, which is cooler, its just different placement and installation IMO. I'm not fully sure on waht the gain difference is though, I certainly would like to find out though...
