Vtec controller.....

My friend used to have a hella fast 4dr. GSR , he bought a vtec controller after he got I/H/E . he said the vtec controller was a waist of money, didnt do shit for his 1/4 mile time and didnt really do much overall ....he said that i should go for a fuel/air controller not the vtec controller ..... anyone agree/disagree with that ?

no my freind inherited money ..i think like $200,000 from his grandfather and blew it all on cars ..... i could name off all the cars but you guys prolly dont wat to hear it , in short he bought a bunch of cars and moded em till they were really fast then sold em (or crashed em) a few months later losing a bunch of money on each car.... till now he is driving this 2002 toyota ecko .... but the GSR he had ripped, he just told me that the vtec controller doesnt do much if even that (could have been cause at the time he only had i/h/e(maybbe you see more performance with other mods than just i/h/e????))... and he told me to get a air/fuel controller. i wanted to know if you guys agree or dissagree with that and why .

well...a good V-AFC is of course a better way to spend the money than jus a flat out VTEC controller. u can tune it on the dyno to get the most from ur car, and have VTEC engage at the optimal point (which is sometimes the stock settings, therefore, useless).
