S10-Adj. Fuel Pressure Regulator?

Can anyone tell me if a rich-running condition(P0172) on a '96 2.2L S10 can be cured by adjusting the fuel pressure lower than the factory pressure?

If it is in spec, look for something else.

As stated look elsewhere. Attempting to fix something, by changing something else that will affect other things is not the way to go. If its running rich, figure out why its running rich and fix that. Order of operation goes diagnostics, fix.

You're both right, of course. I DO know better, It's just that I've tested all the possible causes of this problem as best I can, to no avail.
Thank you both for your input and wisdom
