Re: need tips on stereo removal
Its quite simple actually-- I could help depending on what truck you have. I have a 92 GMC Jimmy. I just recently switched out the radio for a CD Player. All you do-- is you take the panel out that is around the radio-- by finding the screws in the side of the glove box. Then there are screws in the bottom-- but you must completly take out the ashtray to get at them. Then when the panel is gone-- you will see two brackets holding the radio in-- one on each side-- take them off and yank the radio out. Now have fun trying to wire them together-- I had someone else do it for me because I didnt feel like doing it. As for the speakers-- I only removed the ones in the rear. Those are simple-- they are on each side of the truck-- you remove the screws holding the panel in-- pull out the speaker and disconnect the wire. I didnt do the front speakers-- but it seems simple enough-- that you remove the screws youll see when you look at them. As for getting the speaker out when thats done-- I dunno. I assume you pull the speaker out threw the dash-- not for sure tho. Hope I helped a little.
