Rear Windshield wiper issue

2005 Grand Caravan SXT, 140k miles

Rear windshield wiper stops immediately when I push the button to turn it off, and does not go back to the home position.
It stops immediately as soon as I hit the button and I have to watch the wiper and hit the button when it is at home position.

What can cause this?

Any advise is appreciated.
