Car Accident Police Report

Hi,

Recently my neighbor hit my car in apartment parking area and made minor scratches on bumper. So we called the cops and made a complaint then she was agreed to pay the expenses for scratches recovery.

My question is will it be reported to carfax as accident history. When I asked the cop he said that it will not be reported.

Can someone please clarify this.

Appreciate your insight.

Re: Car Accident Police Report

It all depends. Not everything gets reported. I own a car that the PO told me had hit a deer. It was reported to insurance and repaired. No accidents appear on the carfax. I hit a deer in the same car then a week later was run off the road and slid into some guard rails. Both reported and paid out through insurance. Neither of those made it to the carfax report either.

Thanks for the explanation.
