Out of engine oil?

Nissan Sentra 2002.
Upon turning ignition this morning, the engine would run for about 5 seconds then shut down. During this short period of engine running, the engine indicator light is on, meaning engine is out of engine oil?

1. Would that be the only problem or could there be something else?

2. Is 20W-50 suitable for the car model? Sorry I lost my manual

3. Is one liter enough to take the car to the shop about 15 kilometers away? For further checking or servicing. That is if the car runs at all after filling it with one liter engine oil.

4. Days ago the car would jerk if I keep stepping on the accelerator when it is already running at around 60kph, which means it was better for me to maintain that speed. Did that have something to do with the current problem?

Thank you very much

Re: Out of engine oil?

I don't think your car has a low oil light. The check engine light you are seeing is telling you there is a problem. 20w-50 is way to thick you need 5w-30 before you add any oil check the level.
