No heat

my daughter just had a raderater put in her 2001 grand caravan 3.8 with just water now she has no heat. just bought this van so she does not no if the heat ever worked. any ideas?

Whoever replaced the radiator and only put water in it. It's probably full of air pockets.

It's suppose it get cold this weekend so she will be putting antifreeze in it and I will try and make sure no air pockets. any type of special anti freeze the guy who put the radiator in said dex-cool?

You'll see alot of folks switched out from dexcool to regular green. You can google it.

I would check to see if the heater core has been bypassed. sometimes when the heater core leaks, people will go cheap and just bypass it.

but yeah, air pockets and not enough anitfreeze are good starts. Also, do you know if there is a thermostat in it? what is the operating temp? maybe someone removed the thermostat and it's circulating to fast and not heating up properly.
