G6 won't turn over when the key is turned
Hi got a 2008 Pontiac G6 with 120k, and for some reason it won't turn over. Also when the key is turned on the doors lock like it is drive....does anyone know if there is a switch or relay in or near the shifter that might think that the car is in drive, and that is why it won't turn over and the doors lock.

We do know that it is not the battery, starter, or switch....so does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Neutral safety switch comes to mind. Have you tried starting neutral?

Have you checked out the starter enable relay? Is 30a starter fuse ok?

Now the guy that is looking at it took the console off and he said that all of the wires are in tack but it has some kind of wireless/GPS type of device, and he is wondering if it were some kind of a tracking/shutdown device.....I wonder who adds these to cars Rental agency's, police, etc? Anyway does anyone know anything about these, and if this could possibly be the problem, and if so how can they be deactivated. or wired around.

We have had the car for 3 years and it just randomly stated it last Sunday, and took the console apart and noticed this GPS device on it and bit really sure what it is and if it could be causing the issue.

Since the door locks lock turning the key, I'm still leaning towards the neutral safety switch. Have you tried starting it in neutral yet?
Or Tech II advice.
Neutral safety switch usually located on left side of transmission.

I haven't tried it myself, but we took it to a shot and they claim that they did....hopefully they did. He did claim that he bypassed it and it still didn't work who knows though.
