The swap should go fairly easily from the n/a 13b to the turbo II. If you buy the engine, the only thing I can think of that you need, if it doesn't come with it when you buy it is, the ecu for the turbo II, the downpipe, intercooler, and exhaust, I'm almost 100% that exhaust won't come with it, but you might get lucky. Anyway, that's about all I can think of. Let me know how the conversion turns out, I just bought a GTU the other day for $300, perfect body, the engine just has low compression. I'm planning to do the 3rd gen TT 13b in the car. This will likely require a lot more work than the turbo II, but the 55 extra horses stock will be worth it. Keep me up to date on what you are doing, maybe we can help eachother out or something.

IF it is a 1990 RX-7, i would just do a mild rebuild...

BUT if you have to go turbo...

Buy the Series 5 Turbo engine.. try to get one with an ECU and harness (i have 4 JDM s5 engines, but with the wrong harness... and ECU)

or you can buy a microtech to use as your ECU

buy a RB downpipe or find someone who has a stock downpipe laying around (i have a few)

from there the remainder of your exhaust should work.....

But with the harness make sure you also get the knock sensor, boost sensor, the turbo AFM, turbo Inlet duct. (i have from the air inlet all the way, to the turbo... air inlet, air box, afm, turbo inlet duct, and bov loop)

Jdm engines are cool because you'll almost always get the IC...
I'gotten a couple that had damaged flanges... and ended up pop-riveting the customers core engine flange onto the JDM IC ( some JDM IC's are a bit larger)

I got real lucky once, i got this S5 JDM engine w/o an IC, and was like WTF... then under closer examination I found a blitz BOV, HKS turbo, and a monster street port.

I am not trying to sell you stuff... my point is, this stuff is out there, and can be obtained without looking too hard...

Yeah, finding the BOV, upgraded turbo, and things like that would be cool. I guess it didn't matter too much when you didn't have the IC then huh? Anyway, where could I find one of these series 5 JDM engines. Also, if I can find one, is it possible to find one that is already rebuilt? And finally, is it possible to find a rebuilt s5 engine for around 3 grand? I'm looking at all of the possibilities and considering what engine I want to go with. I have found rebuilt 3rd gen RX7 engines for $2500. I have found a few places that are selling the turbo II rebuilt for around $1995. I live out in the Atlanta area, if anyone can help me out on the best place to find an engine, and the best one to put into my car, then please let me know. I really want the 3rd gen 13b, but I'm sure there will be a lot of problems that go along with that, or at least I think there will be, if anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks
