I purchased a 2001 Expedition with a 4.6 and 4r70w 4x4 transmission 180K miles. The owner drove the truck with trans fluid low and vehicle doesn't move but oh so slightly. (better in reverse) I am thinking about rebuilding my first automatic transmission so here are my questions.
1. Should the torque converter be replaced?
2. I noticed that rebuild kits do not come with the front pump. Is this an item that could be destroyed running low on fluid? Do i need to replace or rebuild pump?
3. What other gotchas am I missing that I need to be aware of for rebuild?
