1999 Monte Carlo LS Turn Signal switch?

I have a 99 Monte Carlo LS with nothing in the steering wheel. (no radio etc.)

The turn signals work (intermittent) when I pull them slightly to the high beam direction.
They stopped working in the normal fashon.

Is there a fix while it's in the column?
Or
Do I need to pull the steering wheel to replace it?
Is so, How do I do that with an air bag?

Thanks
Murph in Tucson.

Get 2 new bulbs for your taillights. They (signal, stop, backup lights) are all the same bulb. They are cheap about 3 bucks for 2.
