Audi R8 LB Works

This is my latest project:

I got this kit for free, cause someone else ruined the kit with a bad paintjob. I saved a lot of parts and stripped the body from paint. I also got a set of japanese fenders which fitt pretty good. So my idea to make a sort of LB Works inspired R8 was born. I already glued the fenders on the R8 body.

Then I started to cut in the fenders and made a rough shape. I also added a frontlip and sideskirt.

And I added Milliput to make the bodykit complete.

Re: Audi R8 LB Works

Got the body smooth after a lot of sanding, so it was time to paint it. First I sprayed 2 layers of grey primer. Followed by a couple of coats German Grey from Vallejo Air.
After this had dried long enough, I clearcoated it with zero 2K.

Re: Audi R8 LB Works

It's been a while ago, but I'm back on this project.

First I had to say I went through the paint while polishing the orangepeel. So I had to mask off the body and paint that area again. After that I waxed the body and it all shines amazing 8).

I also completed the interior. I changed the seats for better looking seats from Scale Production, and added black interiorflocking. The paint is Fire Red from Vallejo.

The engine was kept very simple. Only the upper part got some more attention. I added CF decals. The enginebay was painted gloss black.

The wheels and air vents were painted gloss black. It gives the car a more aggressive look I think.

Pretty difficult. It's a vacuform window and very flexibel. You need to cut it out. I needed superglue to glue it cause most other glue didn't work out.
But in the end it looks very cool on the car! And it costs 2 euro so it's very cheap and worth a try.

Re: Audi R8 LB Works

The marriage between body and chassis is finally done. It was a bit scary to stretch the body, but I managed to get it done without any damage .

I also added a few bodyparts like the clearparts and spoiler.
