Quick Question

I have a 2000 GTP and the i think that the blower motor Resistor has gone bad. i have done a Search but i still can not find the answer i am looking for

Where is the Blower motor resistor and blower motor at? i was told it is under the hood or on the passanger side? but where? can some point me in the Direction?

more than likley it is the blower motor resistor. and if it is, good luck. i just spent 45 minutes getting mine out of the car to put the new one in. It is in THE worst position to get to if you ask me. what you need to do is first pull back as much of the carpet and SD pad that you can from the passenger side of the car. then you will be able to look up at the blower motor itself. right next to the motor(front side of the car) will be the resistor screwed into place with 3 10mm(i think) screws. you will need to unscrew atleast two, then you can just break the resistor to get the third one out. there is also a wireing harness that goes into the resistor, unplug this right away, will open up a few more inches of room. that part took me 45 minutes todo, once everything was out, i was able to put it all back together in about 10 minutes, and now my fan works 1-5, not just 5. it sucks, but you have to do it. it really sucks so just take your time and have a few beers on hand to stay calm. a mirror really comes in handy to see where the screws are located, if you do not have one already, borrow, steal, or even buy one, it will help out to see which screws need to come out, i unscrewed one of the screws for the blower motor twice by mistake.

there are two fuses in the glove box that go to the motor. one is a 30amp and for max fan, the other is a 20amp and for hvac settings 1-4. if you read what they are all for it is very clear which one you need to check. that is the only other thing i can think of.

rubberman just think I get a whole 18 minutes of pay to remove and replace it and then I have to test it making sure the blower works fine!

I don't know if this will help you but I had to replace the blower motor on my Grand Am. It was located under the hood on the fire wall. It was covered by the rubbery stuff that breaks easily(its made to break for access). But you'll beable to see the outline of the blower motor on the rubbery stuff. And once you take that off, I believe it was 3 screws to take out. It was very easy in my Grand Am.
