1995 Nissan

I have a 1995 Nissan, 4 cylinder, 200sx. It will run somewhat if you squirt fuel in. I checked the fuel pump regulator and it clicks ok out of the car, but checking plug connection does not have 12 volts going to it. Can anyone tell me the problem? Could it be the brain?
Warm regards,
Ron

Re: 1995 Nissan

if you turn the key on the fuel pump is only supposed to get power for about 2 seconds. if you crank engine over then it will run as long as it seeing a signal from the ignition system. need to have someone crank engine over as you check for power coming out of the relay or at the wires under rear seat going to the fuel pump. good thing about it is you do not need to remove the gas tank to replace fuel pump. here is a video on how to replace it and to get to wires going to it

Many thanks for your reply. Do you know where the fuel pump relay is on this 1995 Nissan, 200sx 4 cylinder? It is not under the hood or in the rear close to the fuel.

I believe I found the fuel pump on the Nissan. It's behind the kickplate, drivers side. There is no power going to it, but checks good outside of car. If you run 12 volts at the tank, the pump works. No power at tank. Could the ECM be at fault?
