2008 Acadia engine oil overfill

I just added about a half quart to much oil to my Wife's 2008 Acadia AWD. Do I need to take some out, or will it tolerate and extra half quart over the full mark?

I'd recommend draining some out. Overfill can lead to oil leaks and oil airation.
Better to err on the side of caution.

My Grand Prix calls for 4.5 qts and I put 5 qts in every time. I am not the only one and it has never caused an issue.
