2014 Chevy Impala Service StabiliTrak
I have 2014 Impala Limited LT.
37,000 Miles Recently when going slow turning sharp into a parking spot. The warning chime goes off with the message Service StabiliTrak. Sometimes the Traction Control light and/or ABS light come on as well. It only happens while going slow, and turning left. Not turning right. Never comes on while driving. Just in the Parking Lot. Any clues as to what needs to be serviced? |

Re: 2014 Chevy Impala Service StabiliTrak
If its anything like the previous W-bodies it may be a worn/chafed wire for the ABS/speed sensor on the hub.

Okay I will check the car over to see if the cables going out to the Front and Rear Hubs are worn or getting pinched.
Kind of thought that might possibly be the issue. |

Re: 2014 Chevy Impala Service StabiliTrak
So far the car only triggers the warning while turning sharp left and slow speeds while parking.
I jacked it up, took off the Front Tires and Turned it full lock to the left and then full to the right. The first two pictures show the ABS Connector on the Left side in a full LH Turn. The third image shows the RH side at a full RH Turn. It appears to me that the LH wire is being forced into a tighter bend. Wondering if the wires have been damaged on the LH side. Anybody else have an opinion? |

Re: 2014 Chevy Impala Service StabiliTrak
I'd definitely take a look at the wires themselves. It would not shock me if one is broken and intermittently losing connection. I had a similar issue on my Grand Prix before and traced it to a poor connection on the right side. Ironically I am intermittently getting the issue again. I just need to jack the car up and see if I can figure out where the issue is.

Re: 2014 Chevy Impala Service StabiliTrak
I've had two W-Bodies with failed wire harnesses at the lower control arm. Wire were broken inside the (hard as a rock) cable jacket. I've also had connectors go intermittent, probably due to the aforementioned hard cable jacket imparting strain on the connector.

Re: 2014 Chevy Impala Service StabiliTrak
I just had that very wiring problem repaired under warranty last week. There is a service bulletin out on that. I also had the same thing happen on a 2001 Buick Regal I owned.

Re: 2014 Chevy Impala Service StabiliTrak
my 2003 I had to replace both wiring harnesses going to the speed sensor about a year apart. What was really strange is they both did not throw an error when it was wet and raining so I am thinking its an intermittent open somewhere in the wiring harness. If you get the repair harness do not use the splice clips, solder and use shrink tube and electrical tape and splice in as far up as you can. Before you snap the wire locks make sure you have plenty of slack when you turn the wheels.
